Price information is entered if indicated in the catalogue the format of this information follows the following method; 2 Gns , 1½ Gns , 1 £ 10 s 6 p , 150 $ , 12.50 $ , 1,200 $
Where indicated in catalogues enquires should be made at desk etc the abbreviation POA (Price on Application) is used
Works listed as either Not for Sale, Loaned or price noted as “– “or entry blank the abbreviation NFS (Not for Sale) is used.
Address variations
In a number of the catalogues for artists exhibiting during the period 1880’s and 1980’s (but not exclusively) a number of Art Societies or Groups listed artists current contact addresses. This information can sometimes be found on a label on the back of works
This information can be used to help identify a period for the work within the artists output of works created and exhibited.
Name variations
It is important to note that some variations of the spelling of surnames and or other names of artists can occur, some have been corrected where identified.
Also women artists sometime use either their single or married names (in some cases alternative names are noted in the comments field).
Measurements of Works
If dimension of works are listed the information is included in the comments field. Sizes are in inches until 1974 then they are generally in centimetres.
General metrication in Australian took place between 1970 and 1988 with large scale conversion across most industries and roads signs in 1974.
The packaging and manufacturing industries converted in 1977
In 1987 the real estate industry converted and by 1988 the few remaining imperial units were removed from general use.

Abbreviations:
Abbreviations are avoided where possible of if known what abbreviation represents eg New South Wales not NSW
Some abbreviations are used such as:
NFS – Not for sale
POA – Price on application
Punctuation:
Punctuation is avoided where possible eg Smiths Creek not Smith’s Creek.
Hyphenation:
Hyphenation in names and titled are entered with spaces on either side the hyphen e.g. Smith-Jones is entered as Smith - Jones
Spelling variations:
Spelling is entered the accepted Australian standards eg Colour not Color. Some other spelling and word variations may be found eg Dry Point and Drypoint.
